Cheri attended the National Main Street Meeting in Detroit. She would like the Board to
concentrate on ways to develop and retain our volunteers. She would like each Board
member to recruit volunteers for our 4 committees. She brought back many ideas — two
were Art for the price of a pica and the idea to make digital copies of the Bywaters murals
in the library and get them hung in a public place like the side of the building facing the
Methodist church parking lot where construction of a new city park will begin soon.
Beatrice will help with this project.
b. Farmers Market was very active last weekend with Bike to the Market Day. Don't forget
it will be open Wednesdays 5 -7pm beginning June and thru the second week of July.
Electrical improvements will be made to the facility.
c. Downtown restrooms: the estimate for the restrooms to be built at the new parking lot
park is $45,000. Archer /Smallwood construction will work with us to reduce this cost.
d. Junk in the Trunk was held on Friday June 6 and St June 7 — pretty successful for an
inaugural event — 12 vendors on Saturday. Most likely only Saturday next year.
