II <br />METHODOLOGY & TECHNICAL APPROACH <br /> <br />Alternative and optional approaches during this time may include the use of an interview <br />panel, assessment center, and/or psychological/behavioral assessment tools such as our <br /> <br />Psychological Report as outlined below. <br /> <br />TASK 6: - PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT <br /> <br />---'-- <br /> <br />As an option for the City to consider, we are prepared to administer a psychological <br /> <br />assessment to the finalists. <br /> <br />This comprehensive instrument provides a broad range of <br /> <br />information about the candidate's behavior, work style and management style, It helps to <br />evaluate a candidate's assets and liabilities to determine job fit, performance potential and <br /> <br />management needs. <br /> <br />It also includes an analysis of the participant in a number of areas <br /> <br />including intellectual abilities (optional); intellectual usage or thinking style (optional); work <br /> <br /> <br />style and motivations; emotional style; interpersonal style; and interpersonal influence and <br /> <br />control. While a battery of tests such as this is not an absolute predictor of success in a job, <br />testing can often predict potential work-related problems that an individual rmght have. <br /> <br />The information from the psychological assessment will not only provide helpful <br /> <br /> <br />information to assist dle City in making a successful hiring decision, but can also be <br /> <br />invaluable in assisting in initial counseling and goal setting with the successful candidate <br />through the use of the Developmental Report, This report can ease the transition to the <br /> <br />new job and help prevent the miscommunications and misunderstandings that can <br />sometimes occur in new employment situations, This report is written in a developmental <br /> <br />tone so that it can be given to dle individual assessed and provides consullctive, objective <br />feedback of assessment results, <br /> <br />It is designed as a workbook requiring the individual's participation in personal development <br /> <br /> <br />activities that may be completed individually or with a supervisor.
