He reviewed <br />components from a legal standpoint. In City of Prosperity they have adopted <br />components of a comprehensive plan, but has not been involved with a full plan. <br /> <br />14. <br /> <br />How do you maintain your visibility in the community? <br /> <br />He accepts invitations to speak. He is a member of a service club that includes <br />many of the community leaders. As mentioned above he has regular meetings <br />with key leaders in the community. He meets monthly with school <br />superintendent. <br /> <br />15. <br /> <br />How do you view the role of the City Manager in the community? <br /> <br />He sees the city manager's role as being defined by the community. He has been <br />in three communities and the role was different in each one. In Prosperity, he has <br />tried to maintain a balance with the Council. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />What is your experience in dealing with the redevelopment of a downtown <br />area? <br /> <br />Prosperity had already set up a reinvestment zone and TIF district. Reinvestment <br />zone has expired, but there was a lot of investment. Thinks they have been <br />successful in bringing people back to downtown. One of their goals was to bring <br />social services back. Currently discussing possibility of new reinvestment zone. <br /> <br />17. <br /> <br />How have you approached the development of a "customer friendly" <br />environment in the City? <br /> <br />His approach has been to embrace the idea of a "customer friendly" city. They <br />have included this in the performance evaluation process. Employees have to see <br />that it is important to them personally that they be customer driven. As part of the <br />reform of the compensation system, they also modified the performance <br />evaluation system. They also give customer service a priority in the budget <br />process. <br /> <br />18. <br /> <br />Why are you interested in the City of Sample position? <br /> <br />City of Sample is home to him. He has family in the city. Father owned the <br />movie theater in City of Sample. He attended college there as well. He thinks the <br />City ,offers him a good career opportunity professionally.
