Motion was made by Commissioner Allcorn and <br />seconded by Commissioner Alsobrook to approve the item as submitted. The motion <br />carried 5 -0 -1, with Commissioner Ardila abstaining. <br />-- CONSENT AGENDA -- <br />[Items appearing on this consent agenda may be approved by a single vote of the Commission, <br />with such approval applicable to all items appearing on said agenda. If any Commission <br />member desires to discuss and consider separately any item appearing on the consent agenda, <br />that Commission member may do so by requesting that the item be removed from the consent <br />agenda and considered as a separate item.] <br />5. Discussion of and possible action regarding the following structures considered by code <br />inspectors to be in violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of <br />Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures," to <br />determine whether such buildings or structures can be rehabilitated and designated on the <br />National Register of Historic Places, as a recorded Texas Historic Landmark, or as historic <br />property as designated by the City Council of the City of Paris. <br />Code Enforcement recommends demolition or repair of the following structures: <br />A. <br />218 W Washington <br />B. <br />835 NW 6th <br />C. <br />727 Booth Alley <br />D. <br />1321 NE 12th <br />E. <br />1950 Hubbard <br />F. <br />644 SE 9th <br />Chair Cox introduced the item and called for discussion. Commissioner Alsobrook <br />requested that item 5A be tabled to allow commissioners time to visit the site. Motion was <br />made by Vice Chair Glatfelter and seconded by Commissioner Allcorn to table item 5A. A <br />separate motion was made by Vice Chair Glatfelter and seconded by Commissioner <br />Alsobrook to recommend demolition of structures 5B through 5F to the Building and <br />Standards Commission. Both motions carried by a single vote of 6 -0. <br />6. Discussion of mural guidelines <br />Chair Cox introduced the item and noted that Mr. Sleeper had provided a list of <br />proposed guideline topics. Mr. Sleeper further explained that the sign ordinance <br />now allows murals within the Downtown Historic District and that an approval <br />process was needed. No action was taken. <br />7. Future Agenda Items <br />Vice Chair Glatfelter requested a future item to discuss use of composite and synthetic <br />construction materials. Commissioner Allcorn requested a future item to discuss <br />appropriate mortar products. Mr. Sleeper suggested future items to discuss a process for <br />2 <br />
