Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. Three individuals spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Bryan Burger, of Dallas, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Burger stated he <br />was present if the board had questions concerning the petition. The Planning and <br />Zoning Commission had a few concerns related to buggies being in the parking lot. <br />Mr. Burger stated to get a buggy you have to place a quarter in the machine. Once <br />you have completed your grocery shopping you place the buggy back and the <br />quarter is returned to you. <br />Charles Braswell, of Powderly, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Braswell <br />stated that the Aldi's Food Market would be a great business for the City of Paris. <br />Rick Utley, 320 N.E. 34th Street, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Utley stated that <br />the Aldi's Food Market would be a wonderful business to welcome to the City of <br />Paris. <br />B. No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by John Lee, seconded by Mike Folmar to approve the petition. Motion <br />carried 6 -0. <br />S. Public hearing to consider the petition of Charles Braswell for a change in zoning from a <br />One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to One - Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF -3) <br />with a Specific Use Permit (39- Mobile Home) on Lots 29 and 30, City Block 197, being <br />located at 1838 Maple Avenue. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. One individual spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Charles Braswell, of Powderly, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Braswell <br />stated that this petition was to allow him to place a mobile home on the vacant lot at <br />1838 Maple Avenue to bring in more tax dollars. <br />B. Several spoke in opposition. <br />Jim Bell, of Paris, Texas, spoke in opposition of the petition. Mr. Bell stated he had <br />concerns that market value in the neighborhood would drop. Mr. Bell further stated <br />if the owners planned to place a new mobile home on the vacant lot the issue might <br />be different. <br />
