Regular Meeting City Council <br />May 10, 2004 <br />Page 11 <br />Texas Commission Fire Protection certification training. And, that is the <br />reason they have placed $7,000.00 for training. He advised that on short <br />notice, that was about the only bid they could get. They are also exploring <br />another possibility, and today he received information from another trainer <br />contact, and it may be that they can certify their facilities as a HAZ-MAT <br />training center and have a trainer come in and they might even lower those <br />training cost. <br />Gene Anderson, Director of Finance, came forward advising that if the Council <br />wanted to do this now, as it is not budgeted, if the City Council gives approval <br />and say this is what they want to do, the budget can be amended in the last <br />three months of the fiscal year by moving money around to make it work. <br />After further discussion, a motion was made by Councilwoman Neeley, <br />seconded by Councilman Weekly, for approval of the Resolution using Option <br />No. A. The motion carried 4 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman Bell and Councilman <br />Guest voting no. <br />Resolution No. 2004-091, accepting the recommendation of the Main Street <br />Board to participate in the Visionaries in Preservation Program created by the <br />Texas Historical Commission; authorizing the filing of appropriate <br />applications letters of support, and other necessary documents associated <br />therewith; and declaring an effective date, was presented. A motion was made <br />by Councilwoman Neeley, seconded by Councilman Guest, for approval of the <br />resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2004-092, approving and authorizing the execution of a <br />professional services agreement with ArchiTexas for preparation of design <br />guidelines for the Downtown Historic District, was presented. A motion was <br />made by Councilman Weekly, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem McCarthy, for <br />approval of the resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Fendley called for a report on the status of the Police and Courts <br />
