Paris —Lamar County Health District <br />400 West Sherman Street, Paris, Texas 75460 -5646 <br />Health District: (903) 785 -4561 <br />Women, Infant and Children (WIC): (903) 784 -1411 <br />Fax: (903) 737 -0978 <br />-vv w. parislamanccalth.com <br />Minutes of SPECIAL Meeting <br />Paris - Lamar County Board of Health <br />The Paris - Lamar County Board of Health held a SPECIAL meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September <br />23,d, 2014. <br />In attendance were Dr. Mark Gibbons, Dr. Lance Wyche, Dr. Keith House, Dr. William George, Dr. Rick <br />Erickson and Mrs. Kristi Graham. Others in attendance were Mrs. Gina Prestridge, Ms. Cheryl Johnson, <br />Mrs. Carla Rhodes and Mrs. Nita Johnson. Mr. Bill Collins was not in attendance. <br />Dr. Gibbons called the meeting to order in open session at 5:31 p.m. <br />Dr. Gibbons made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Wyche to approve the minutes from prior <br />meeting. All approved. <br />Mrs. Prestridge advised that since the WIC grants end on 09 -30th, they are needed the clarification to the <br />longevity and cost of living adjustment so she can submit her grant. Mrs. Prestridge advised that she <br />research Texas Workforce Commission, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and several Federal Law websites <br />regarding the full time and part time definition. There is some guidance but it is up to the individual <br />organizations to define. It ranged from 1,000 hours in a 12 month period, to 30 hours a week being <br />accepted as full time. Most of our employees work 40 -hours work weeks, we have a few that only work a <br />few hours a week, but then we have 2 -3 that work an average of around 30 hours every week. Mrs. <br />Prestridge presented a draft for the board to review and make changes. The longevity cutoff is <br />September 30' and will be paid in October. The Board will vote annually on the amount to be paid for <br />each month worked and if funds are available. Dr. Gibbons made the motion and was seconded by Dr. <br />Wyche to approve the C.O.L.A./ Longevity Policy as written. All approved. <br />The next meeting will be on the 211t of October, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at the Paris - Lamar County Health <br />District. <br />Dr. Gibbons made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Erickson for the meeting to be adjourned at 5:50 <br />p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted by: <br />Cheryl D.
