City of Paris Safety Committee Meeting <br />July 1, 2008 <br />City Council Conference Room <br />Call meeting to order @ 3:00 pm. <br />• Roll Call: <br />Present: Priscilla McAnally, Todd Varner, Darrel Dickerson, Dale Maberry, Mike Wade, <br />Amy Samis, Melba Harris, Kellie Newman, Tim Moore <br />Absent: Kevin Carruth, Matt Birch <br />• Last meeting minutes approved with the correction of Kellie Newman's name (misspell) <br />Reviewed 1St report of injuries <br />June 2008 <br />3 Report Only <br />6 Medical Reports (4 of 6 with no time lost) <br />Year to Date <br />24 Just for notification <br />18 Claims made to Workman's Comp <br />42 Reports since October 1, 2007 <br />Safety Committee will ask for City Employees to help develop a motto for the Safety <br />Committee. The flyer will go out in the July 18th paychecks. Winner will receive a $25 <br />gift certificate. (gift certificate was later raised to $50 by City Mngr.) Deadline for entries <br />will be August 15th. They can be turned into Todd, Priscilla, or any of the safety <br />committee members. We will look and vote on them to determine the winner at the <br />September 2, 2008 meeting. <br />Priscilla advised the committee that the members did not have to have an alternate to fill <br />in for them when they are unavailable for a meeting, however, they could have an <br />alternate if they wished. The alternates names are as follows: <br />Jason Barber's alternate: Josh Hart <br />Darrel Dickerson's alternate: Danny White <br />Dale Maberry's alternate: Deputy Vickers <br />Amy Samis' alternate: Bill Loranger <br />There was a request for CPR training from the Safety Committee. Kellie Newman <br />advised she would get with instructors regarding the training. EMS has 5 instructors and <br />there can be 6 students to each instructor. The course is approximately 4 -6 hours. There <br />are no text books, it is video oriented. Todd suggested the department heads be notified <br />when and where the training will be. <br />
