Page 2 <br />Sign Ord. Committee <br />June 13, 1991 <br />In discussing Section No. 28 -21, Removal of nonconforming signs, it was <br />the consensus of the Committee to amend this section to read: <br />(a) Signs erected prior to July 1, 1986, and which do not conform to <br />the requirements of this chapter, are nonconforming signs under this <br />sign control ordinances if a permit was required for their erection. <br />(b) All signs legally erected pursuant to a valid permit or legally <br />maintained prior to July 1, 1986, which do not conform to the <br />provisions of this section shall be nonconforming signs and shall be <br />removed or relocated as is necessary for any public or utility project <br />at the expense of the owner. <br />No other change was needed in this section. <br />It was the consensus of the Committee that the above recommendation <br />concerning Torpedo signs be incorporated into the sign ordinance as <br />stated above. <br />It was the consensus of the Committee that the license fee for Sign <br />Contractor's License be increased to $50.00 for the first year, and <br />$25.00 per year for each renewal. <br />Chairman Bell announced the next meeting will be June 27, 1991, 6:00 P. <br />M., and requested a public hearing be placed on the agenda for input <br />from the public regarding regulations of Torpedo signs, and if <br />possible, place the amendments on the agenda. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilwoman <br />Ingram to adjourn the meeting.
