MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />Tuesday, October 6, 1998 <br />5:15 o'clock P. M. <br />Council Room - City Hall <br />Paris, Texas <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session, Tuesday, October 6, 1998 with the <br />following members present: <br />1. Edward Ellis 4. Mary Lane <br />2. Rickey Mackey 5. George Robinson <br />3. Kenneth Webb 6. Cleo Holmes <br />The city staff was represented by Assistant Police Chief James Barnett. <br />Chairman George Robinson called the meeting to order at 5:20 P.M. when a Quarum was <br />present. <br />The Minutes of previous meetings were approved as submitted. <br />Members Mary Lane, Rickey Mackey and George Robinson were sworn it by City <br />Attorney Scott Foster, since they had recently been re- appointed. <br />An election was held for Chairman. Ed Ellis nominated George Robinson to continue <br />serving as Chairman. Kenneth Webb seconded the motion. There being no more <br />nominations a vote was held and the motion passed 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br />Next and election was held for Co- Chair. Ed Ellis nominated Kennth Webb and this <br />motion was seconded by Mary Lane. There being no further nominations a vote was held <br />and this motion passed 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br />The first items for consideration were the placing of Stop Signs at the following locations: <br />1. Neathery and 17 " Street S.E. stopping East and West bound traffic on Neathery. <br />2. Silverleaf and Fair Oaks, stopping South bound traffic on Silverleaf. <br />3. Silverleaf and Aspen, stopping North bound traffic on Silverleaf. <br />4. Oak Creek and 30th Street N.E., stopping North bound traffic on 30' N.E. <br />After discussion Ed Ellis made a motion to combine the requests and approve them as <br />requested. Mary Lane seconded and the motion passed 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br />The next item of business was a request for a 20 MPH School Speed Zone on 6 " Street N.E., <br />starting 200 feet South of the South curb line of Martin Luther King Drive to the North to <br />the South curb line of Williams Street. <br />
