MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />Tuesday, July 1, 1997 <br />5:15 o'clock P. M. <br />Council Room - City Hall <br />Paris, Texas <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday, July 1, 1997 with the following <br />members present: <br />1. Charles Thompson 4. Edward Ellis <br />2. Mary Lane 5. George Robinson <br />3. Cleo Holmes 6. Rickey Mackey <br />Assistant Police Chief James Barnett represented the City Staff. <br />Chairman George Robinson called the meeting to order at 5:15 P. M. <br />An election for Chairman was called. Cleo Holmes nominated George Robinson. Mary Lane <br />seconded. There being no further nominations a vote was held and passed 5 ayes to 0 nays with <br />Commissioner Rickey Mackey not yet present. <br />An election for Co- chairman was held. Ed Ellis nominated Rickey Mackey and the motion was <br />seconded by Charles Thompson. There being no further nominations the motion passed 5 ayes <br />to 0 nays with Commissioner Rickey Mackey not yet present. <br />Commissioner Rickey Mackey came in at 5:17 P. M. <br />The first and only item of business was a request for a No Parking Zone on the North side of the <br />3700 block of Carrie Lane beginning at the East curbline of the Southeast exit ramp off Loop <br />286, to the East to the West boundary line of the private road running North and South behind <br />James Hodge Motors. <br />Discussion was held and after Assistant Chief Barnett explained this request came from <br />Greyhound Bus Company who now have busses using this street to approach their terminal <br />building on the private road behind Hodge Motors Ed Ellis made a motion that the request by <br />granted as requested. Mary Lane seconded and the motion passed 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 5:21 P.M. <br />�Wames Barnett <br />
