MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />Tuesday, August 3, 1993 <br />5:15 P.M. <br />Council Room - City Hall <br />Paris, Texas <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday, August 3, 1993 <br />with the following members present: <br />1. Ed Ellis 4. David Gilbert <br />2. Billy Trenado 5. Richard Fuller <br />3. Tom Kolko 6. Pauline Franklin <br />Assistant Police Chief James Barnett was also present representing the <br />city staff. <br />The minutes of the December 1, 1992 and the July 6, 1993 meetings were <br />approved as submitted. <br />A request to remove the No Parking Zone in front of 581 Clement Road <br />was considered. After discussion that there is a No Parking Zone on <br />both sides of Clement Road in this area because it is near the North <br />entrance to the Fair Grounds and Rodeo Arena and was placed there be- <br />cause of past problems when vehicles parked on the road of getting em- <br />ergency vehicles through the area Tom Kolko made a motion to deny the <br />request. Ed Ellis seconded and the motion carried 5 ayes to 0 nays. <br />Richard Fuller arrived at this time. <br />Next a request to establish a Handicapped Parking Space on the West <br />side of the street in the 600 block of 3rd N.E. was considered. This <br />space is to begin 78 feet South of the South curbline of E. Tudor St. <br />extending to the South 20 feet. After learning that the space was <br />to be in front of Maxey Funeral Home and was requested by them to allow <br />handicapped persons the closest space to the chapel Richard Fuller made <br />a motion to recommend the Handicapped Parking Space as requested. Paul- <br />ine Franklin seconded and the motion carried 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 5:18 P.M. <br />ames Barnett <br />
