MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />TUESDAY,AUGUST 5,1987 <br />5:15 P.M. <br />COUNCIL ROOM - CITY HALL <br />PARIS,TEXAS <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday,August 5,1986, with <br />the following members present: <br />1. Judy Lutz 4. Gerald Byas <br />2. Frank Sherman 5. Charles Thompson <br />3. Lynn Hitt 6. Paul Wood <br />The City staff was represented by Assistant Police Chief James Barnett. <br />The meeting was called to order at 5 :15 P.M. by Chairman Thompson. <br />The minutes of the June 3,1986 meeting.were approved as submitted. <br />First a request for a Stop Sign on 1st N.E., stopping Southbound traffic <br />at East Provine. <br />After learning there is already a Stop Sign on 1st stopping Northbound <br />traffic at Provine, Gerald Byas made a motion to recommend the install- <br />ation as requested. Frank Sherman seconded and the motion carried 5 ayes <br />to 0 nays. <br />A request for a "No Parking Zone" in the 400 block of 4th S.W.. <br />After discussion Gerald Byas made a motion for a "No Parking Zone" <br />on the West side of the 400 block of 4th S.W., starting at the North <br />curb line of West Sherman Street, and going North 400 feet to the *back <br />of the Department of Human Services property. Paul Wood-seconded the <br />motion and it carried 5 ayes to 0 nays. <br />Lynn Hitt arrived. <br />A discussion of a plan for safety lighting at Lamar Avenue and Loop 286 <br />was held. The Commission members liked the idea and asked that <br />lighting be requested at all the overpasses on the Loop. <br />A letter was read explaining the.
