MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1987 <br />5:15 P.M. <br />COUNCIL ROOM - CITY HALL <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />The Traffic Commission met in mgular session Tuesday, November 3, 1987 <br />with the following members present: <br />1. Frank Sherman <br />2. Charles Thompson <br />3. Paul Wood <br />4. Richard Fuller <br />5. Judy Lutz <br />6. Gerarld Byas <br />The City Staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police James <br />Barnett. <br />The minutes of the July 7, 1987 meeting were accepted as submitted. <br />The first item of business was the consideration of a request for <br />a Two Hour Parking Zone on the North side of Clarksville Street <br />beginning 171 feet East of the East curb line of 3rd Street S.E., <br />then East 107 feet to the end of the zone. <br />After disussion Gerald Byas made a motion to recommend the parking <br />as requested. Judy Lutz seconded the motion and it carried 5 ayes <br />to 0 nays. (Richard Fuller was not there yet.) <br />Next, Pat Bassano appeared representing the Paris News requesting <br />two loading zones in the 100 Block of Lamar Avenue on the South <br />side in front of the news building. <br />After discussion this item was tabled pending more information as <br />to the agreement with the State concerning parking spaces in a mov- <br />ing Traffic lane. <br />A request for Right Turn Only Lanes at the following locations was <br />considered next: <br />a. In the 10 block of Lamar Avenue, the North Westbound lane <br />at North Main Street. <br />b. In the 10 Block of Pine Bluff Street, the North Westboud <br />lane at North Main Street. <br />c. In the 300 Block of North Main Street, the West Southbound <br />lane at Graham Street. <br />James Barnett recommended the lanes be designated as requested by <br />The State Department of Highways and Public Transportation. Paul <br />Wood made a motion to combine the three requests and that they all <br />be approved. Gerald Byas seconded the motion and it carried 6 ayes <br />to 0 nays. (Fuller was now present.) <br />The next item considered was a request for Left Turn Only Lanes at <br />the following locations: <br />a. Inside lane all around the downtown Plaza. <br />
