MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7,1989 <br />COUNCIL ROOM - CITY HALL <br />PARIS,TEXAS <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday, February 7,1989, with <br />the following members being present: <br />1. Gerald Byas <br />2. Judy Lutz <br />3. Frank Sherman <br />4. Charles Thompson <br />5. Tom Kolko <br />6. Edward Ellis <br />The City of Paris was represented by Police Chief Charles Whitley in the <br />absence of Assistant Chief James Barnett, who was absent due to an injury. <br />The meeting was called to order by the presiding Chairman, Gerald Byas <br />at 5:15 P.M. <br />1 <br />The minutes of the last Commission meeting (November 1,1988) were <br />approved as furnished. <br />After welcoming Mr. Edward Ellis, the newest member of the Traffic <br />Commission, a short informal discussion was held concerning the intersection <br />of North Collegiate street and Loop 286. <br />The first and only item on the agenda was then considered. This being a <br />request for STOP SIGNS at 4th N.W. and West Provine Street, stopping <br />East and West bound traffic on West Provine. <br />After a brief discussion on this item Charles Thompson made a motion <br />that Stop Signs be authorized and posted stopping East and West bound <br />traffic on West Provine at 4th St. N.W. <br />The motion was seconded by Frank Sherman. <br />A vote resulted in 6 ayes and 0 nays in favor of the motion. <br />There being no further business to conduct, the meeting was adjourned at <br />5:35 P.M. <br />Charles Whitley <br />Police Chief <br />
