MINUTES <br />Paris Main Street Advisory Board <br />A regular monthly meeting of the Paris Main Street Advisory Board was held on Wednesday, <br />August 2, 2000, at 3 p.m., in the Paris City Hall Annex Building, with Terry Townsend, Paris <br />Main Street Manager, presiding. <br />PRESENT <br />ABSENT <br />David House Dwight Chaney Barbara Wilson <br />Karen Wilkerson Anne Wyche Linda Suarez <br />Scott McDowell Suzy Harper Bill Payne <br />Also present were: <br />Terry Townsend, Manager, Paris Main Street <br />Terry Townsend called the meeting to order at 3:10 p.m. <br />The resignation of Dr. William Hayden from the Board was accepted. Replacements were then <br />discussed: Linda Suarez nominated Terry Davis for her obvious association with the Gibraltar <br />Hotel rehabilitation project; Barbara Wilson agreed and suggested Lisa Thomas in the event <br />Terry was unavailable; and Karen Wilkerson, highlighting a theory that downtown business <br />owners may posses a higher commitment level than non - business owners, nominated Linda <br />Ryan. Terry Townsend reminded the Board that the ultimate decision rested with the City <br />Council for appointment and that he would submit our recommendations to the Mayor. <br />The Board planned a calendar for the activities leading up to the public meeting. The dates are <br />as follows: <br />August 16 — divide downtown building/business owners for personal contact <br />September 5 — personal contact with those in favor of the ordinances <br />September 18 — invitations to the public meeting mailed and personal follow up with contacts <br />October 3 — Public Meeting, Plaza Theater, 7 p.m. Bill Payne, facilitator <br />Other assignments made include Barbara Wilson and Anne Wyche as the new Design <br />Committee Chairmen. They will have a new color palette to present to the Board by the <br />September 16 meeting. <br />Linda Suarez and Suzy Harper are to have good examples of signage, lighting examples and <br />banners put on foam board with cost estimates by the August 30 meeting. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:15 p.m. <br />Linda Su Suarez, Member <br />Paris Main Street Advisory Board <br />
