n PARIS PUBLIC LIBRARY RULES OF CONDUCT FOR PATRONS For all patrons: 1. Smoking, eating, drinking alcoholic or any other beverages, and gum chewing by children are prohibited. 2. Proper behavior from everyone is expected. Running, shoving, loud arguments, any boisterous or lewd behavior; and damaging, defacing or destroying Library property are all prohibited and each is grounds for ejection from the Library. 3. Library telephones may not be used without permission. 4. Animals (except Seeing -Eye dogs and animals taking part in a Library sponsored program) are prohibited. 5. The parking lot is for patron parking of cars and bicycles only. It cannot be used for skating, skateboarding, bicycle riding, or for children's play. Obey handicapped parking signs and drive with care on the lot. 6. Do not place bicycles, skateboards, equipment or supplies in the foyer. For children: 1. Children under 6 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times, and must be accompanied by an adult of the same sex to the restroom. 2. Children ages 6 through 9 must have a responsible adult in the Library building when the children are in the Youth Department, and they should remain in the Youth Department until their parent or guardian returns. 3. Children 10 years old or older may come to the Library alone. 4. Under no circumstances can a child be left alone and unattended at the Library all day. Leaving a child may result in a call to social services agencies or the police. 5. Children must not play in the Library, or loiter in the restrooms, or disrupt other patrons. 6. Children under the age of 15 are not permitted to use Library machinery such as typewriters; microfiche materials and equipment, copying machine, etc., without specific permission and adult supervision.
