n <br />PARIS PUBLIC LIBRARY <br />RULES OF CONDUCT FOR PATRONS <br />For all patrons: <br />1. Smoking, eating, drinking alcoholic or any other beverages, and gum <br />chewing by children are prohibited. <br />2. Proper behavior from everyone is expected. Running, shoving, loud arguments, <br />any boisterous or lewd behavior; and damaging, defacing or destroying Library <br />property are all prohibited and each is grounds for ejection from the Library. <br />3. Library telephones may not be used without permission. <br />4. Animals (except Seeing -Eye dogs and animals taking part in a Library <br />sponsored program) are prohibited. <br />5. The parking lot is for patron parking of cars and bicycles only. It cannot <br />be used for skating, skateboarding, bicycle riding, or for children's play. <br />Obey handicapped parking signs and drive with care on the lot. <br />6. Do not place bicycles, skateboards, equipment or supplies in the foyer. <br />For children: <br />1. Children under 6 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian <br />at all times, and must be accompanied by an adult of the same sex to the <br />restroom. <br />2. Children ages 6 through 9 must have a responsible adult in the Library <br />building when the children are in the Youth Department, and they should <br />remain in the Youth Department until their parent or guardian returns. <br />3. Children 10 years old or older may come to the Library alone. <br />4. Under no circumstances can a child be left alone and unattended at the <br />Library all day. Leaving a child may result in a call to social services <br />agencies or the police. <br />5. Children must not play in the Library, or loiter in the restrooms, or <br />disrupt other patrons. <br />6. Children under the age of 15 are not permitted to use Library machinery <br />such as typewriters; microfiche materials and equipment, copying machine, <br />etc., without specific permission and adult supervision. <br />
