<br />The Board of Directors for the Paris Public Library met in regial .-r
<br />session, April 15, 1975 at 10 a.m. in the Librnty with Chairman .Ben
<br />Marable pr.eriding. Attending were Herschel McKinney, FeliV Gibson,
<br />Robert 3ierson, David Denney, ee Cunningham F. D. Mallory, hire. Mfrvin
<br />Gibbs, Mrs. Glynn Lowe, Mrs. Frank McClure, Mrs. Printis �71ir, ^nd Mrs.
<br />Margaret Baker, Librarian.
<br />Minutes of the March 18 meeting were read and aprovad as circulated.
<br />After a discussion of the financial statements and method of keeping the
<br />records, Gibson moved with Mallory seconding, that the memorial andl fine
<br />f1l.nds be deposited in the general fund with memorial money used imrediate
<br />for books, and? the fine money as needed. Motion passed.
<br />Pierson moved the financial statement for March 1�e approvod, Ech.inney
<br />seconded, and the motion parsed.
<br />Pierson, Chairman of the Bud"et Commit`ee with Gibson and i.allory,
<br />reported on the.budget reouest to be presented immedietely to the City
<br />Council for 1975 -1976, with an increase from 289200 to 736,217 to cot ^r
<br />the five nercent normal salary increased plus 7 percent incre;, ^e to I -eep
<br />Library oven two hours extra per week to comply with Texas Library
<br />As7ociaticn; repair inside building for ::,2,000; nv.rchrre a portable
<br />paper beck book display at $150; and incre -se book burchsses to "4000,
<br />adding two new sets of reference books instead of one, and two conies of
<br />top 10 fiction books instead of one. A copy of proposed bud_;et is nttac�-ec

<br />, Denney showed copies of the City Planner's deign plsn to a,lrl a
<br />men s restroom in the present storage room of the Office, and imnrove
<br />air conditioning in the a -ea. City will call for bids for multiple
<br />agreements and hopefully the work will be completed by summer.
<br />Gibson reported on the committee stu ("y of advantages nn(I re -luirer.ients
<br />for belonging to the Texas Library system, sassing the only chan�.;e ,aoii'd
<br />be increasing number of hours to 30 that the Library would be or)en each

<br />placed soon. In addition, she asked for permission to have city r-o77e the
<br />overgrown wax leaf ligustrums along the terrace on south side. The
<br />Board approved.
<br />Mallory renuested the parking signs be remov!A as the Board had
<br />agreed to have done previously. These w ^re removed of ! -er the sleeting.
