C
June 23, 1978
To: Library Advisory Board Members
From; Pat M. Bassano
Subject: JUNE MEETING REVIEW
Since we did not have a quorum present at our meeting last Tuesday,
I wanted to pass along some items for your information that need to
be reviewed before our annual dinner on July 13.
ANNUAL DINNER
Our annual dinner has been set for Thursday, July 13, 7:00 p.m.
at the Gordon Country Club. Wednesday, July 12, had been re-
served.
Invitations to board members, city staff, council members, and
library staff will be mailed soon.
OFFICERS ELECTION
Francis Ellis has been appointed to chair the nominating com-
mittee for nominating fiscal 1979 officers.
It was also recommended at this week's meeting that Dr. Don
Black, and Francis Ellis be reappointed as directors since
their terms expire this fiscal year. This will be submitted
to the City Council for formal approval.
BOOK SELECTION POLICY
I believe all of you have a copy of the book selection policy
proposal submitted by"John. Please read this and check with
him on any questions you may have. We will call for a vote to
adopt the policy at our dinner meeting.
FINES FOR OVER-DUE, LOST, OR DAMAGED ITEMS
John has also given us a proposal for a fine policy. One major
change in the attached explanation of this plan is that 63.75
would be set as a maximum fine on one item. We presently charge
the fine rate for over-due books until it is turned in. These
occasionally run up to 310 or $15. We will vote on this item at
our August meeting. Please check with John on any questions
you may have on this policy also.
