Ms. Lewis recommended the Library participate in the July 4
Independence Day Parade. She said a simple entry with kids reading
books would be very effective. Jackie Alsobrook moved, Joe Rex
seconded and the motion to participate passed unanimously.
Ms. Lewis reported for the Friends of the Library, advising the
March 29 book review luncheon profit was $847. She also advised
that 69 tote bags had been sold and from now on all proceeds would
be profit. Since August 1992, the Friends have given the
Children's Department $1,075.
Ms. Lewis reported the Library will participate in the JTPA Summer
Work Program and she plans to hire two students to assist with
clerical, shelving, and audio visual maintenance duties during the
eight week period.
Ms. Lewis replied to questions about the inside north east corner
wall and the outside new front entrance concrete wall, both of
which have severe damage. Jackie Alsobrook moved, and Bill Hagood
seconded, to advise the City Manager again about these conditions
and request they be repaired quickly; the motion passed
unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 5:05 PM.
C) koAq 3
Date Approved Beverly Lewis
Acting Secretary
/attachment
