Jackie Alsobrook
was absent.
Minutes of the June 8, 1994, meeting were approved as circulated.
Ms. Lewis reported June expenditures were in line for that time of the fiscal year.
She distributed the statistical report which indicated an overall increase in
circulation to date, in spite of the fact the Library was closed a total of 63 hours in
July for bar coding. The audio books and videos continue to show increases in
circulation.
She reported 300 new accessions, including 111 adult fiction and 96 adult non-
fiction titles; 46 juvenile fiction and 47 juvenile non - fiction titles were added. 14
large print books were added as these increase in popularity.
There were no new developments in the county funding project.
Ms. Lewis reported bar coding continues in preparation for automation and the staff
is working Mondays. The adult collection is finished and most of the juvenile
collection has been completed.
Ms. Lewis said more than 1,045 children took part in the Summer Reading Club in
June. They are giving more oral book reports and enjoying the pioneer activities.
Mrs. Gibbs announced the Friends of the Library book review luncheon would be
Monday, October 17 at the Paris Golf and Country Club with Mary Ann Smith
giving a dramatic presentation. Letters will be sent to all members of the Friends to
announce this fund raising event.
