PARIS PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD <br />December 13, 1994 <br />Minutes <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met for the Christmas meeting <br />December 13, 1994, at the home of Chairman Beth Shelton with these <br />members present: Jackie Alsobrook, Jean Gibson, Joe Rex, Keitt Wood, and <br />Frances Ellis, Secretary. Absent were Virginia Gibbs, Bill Hagood, and <br />Rogene Paterson. Library Director Beverly Lewis attended. <br />Minutes of the November 16, 1994, meeting were approved as circulated. <br />There was no Budget Report from the City Finance Director's office. <br />The Status Report indicated year -to -date circulation of 32,457, a 1% increase <br />over last year. Reference assistance was provided 2,614 times in November; <br />and 39 programs were given, mostly for preschoolers and children from Head <br />Start classes. There were 183 new library cards issued. <br />There were 450 new titles added: 208 adult fiction, 203 adult non - fiction, 25 <br />juvenile fiction, and 14 juvenile non - fiction. 30 videos were added. 150 <br />juvenile titles are on order, and there are many audio books to be catalogued. <br />Marcive, Inc. had notified the retrospective conversion would be completed in <br />early February and submitted a partial invoice for $5,315.50. Mrs. Alsobrook <br />moved the bill be paid; motion seconded, discussed, and passed. The money <br />to be taken out of the Board fund, as earlier agreed. <br />Training for the new automation system would be delayed until the collection <br />data base is installed. Ms. Lewis had finished her part of the profile for the <br />catalog. Patrons will begin registering for new library cards in mid - January. <br />
