PARIS PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD <br />January 18, 1995 <br />Minutes <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session January 18, 1995, in <br />the Gallery with President Beth Shelton presiding and these members present: <br />Jackie Alsobrook, Virginia Gibbs, Jean Gibson, Joe Rex, Keitt Wood, and Frances <br />Ellis, Secretary. Absent were Bill Hagood and Rogene Patterson. Beverly Lewis, <br />Library Director, and Kathie Gibbs, Friends President, were present. <br />Minutes of the December 14, 1994, meeting were approved as circulated. <br />Ms. Lewis discussed the Budget Report, noting expenditures were in line for this <br />time of the fiscal year. <br />She also discussed the Library Status Report, saying print circulation this year to <br />date was 34,761 and non -print circulation 11,826. There were 89 kids and 63 kids <br />attending the nine December programs. <br />The Accessions Report indicated 550 new books were added: 305 adult and 245 <br />juvenile. Also, 63 videos and 33 audio books were added. <br />Ms. Lewis advised the staff began January 17 to collect new applications from <br />patrons in order for the data to be entered and new library cards ready before the <br />automated system is up. The staff training will be conducted sometime in March. <br />Mrs. Alsobrook moved the $5,316.50 invoice from Marcive, Inc., the retrospective <br />conversion vendor, be paid; motion seconded, discussed, and passed. <br />Ms. Lewis and Mrs. Wood will attend the Texas Library Legislative day in Austin <br />February 15. <br />Members agreed to change the next Board meeting to February 22. <br />Mrs. Alsobrook moved the Library Board get the stand for the aquarium which was <br />donated to the Library in memory of the late Children's Librarian, Faye Townsdin, <br />by her family; motion seconded, discussed, and passed. <br />
