PARIS PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD <br />February 22, 1995 <br />Minutes <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session, February 22, 1995, <br />in the Gallery with Chairman Beth Shelton presiding and these members present: <br />Virginia Gibbs, Bill Hagood, Rogene Patterson, Joe Rex, and Frances Ellis, <br />Secretary. Absent were Jackie Alsobrook and Jean Gibson. Present were Keitt <br />Wood, NETLS Lay Representative; Kathie Gibbs, Friends President; and Beverly <br />Lewis, Library Director. <br />The Minutes of the January 18, 1995, meeting were approved as circulated. <br />Ms. Lewis discussed the Budget Report, saying expenditures were normal for this <br />time of the fiscal year. <br />She said circulation, which had been down a little in December; however, was up <br />for January when 17,300 items had circulated. Year to date is ahead of last year. <br />Accessions included 375 books, 50 videos and 50 audio books. The circulation of <br />the audio books continues to escalate. She is still reviewing packaging materials to <br />determine the most practical way to circulate audio cassettes and books together, <br />because the plastic bags used previously did not last. <br />Ms. Lewis said 23 programs were provided to children last month and 2 were to <br />nursing home residents; total attendance 344. <br />Ms. Lewis advised the installation and training for the new automation system <br />would be the last week in March. The final bill for the retrospective conversion was <br />received. Rex moved the $5,049.50 Marcive, Inc. invoice be paid, motion <br />seconded, discussed, and passed. <br />
