Absent were Jackie Alsobrook and Toni
Donnan. Kathie Gibbs, Friends President, and Beverly Lewis, Library Director,
were present.
Minutes of the August 16, 1995, meeting were approved as distributed.
Expenditures for the eleven months of this fiscal year were 81.17 percent Ms.
Lewis advised there were several large outstanding orders still to be received this
month, and the invoices for the computers would arrive with them next week.
Circulation was up in August compared to last year with 21,475 items checked out,
an increase of 4,693 items. Circulation for the year to date is also up by 15,847
items with the total of 195,582 items checked out indicating an 8.8% increase.
The Galaxy Automated System was "accepted" and the final invoice paid after the
last training day was completed 08/28/95. Upon motion
by Keitt Wood, second by Jean Gibson, the following passed unanimously: "During
the period beginning Tuesday, November 14 and ending Saturday, December 2,
patrons may bring in overdue items, plus one can of non - perishable food for the
needy, and all fines on those overdue materials will be forgiven. Then, beginning
Tuesday, December 5, the fine for overdue books, audio books, and music
cassettes, will increase to 25 cents per day per item. The $1 per day per item will
remain the same for overdue videos."
