Fifth, our evening open hours have been a success. Not
only did evening circulation reach nearly eight thousand
in the eleven months we have been open from 6 -8 PM on
Tuesdays and Thursdays; the records indicate we provided
reference assistance more than 1100 times then. If you
divide that by the number of evening open hours you can
understand why students appreciate and take advantage of
this service.
Sixth, our holiday announcement should be happily heralded
by those who have overdue library materials. We're
holding Holiday Amnesty Weeks December 23 through January
5 when any overdue books, videos, audio cassettes, and
periodicals may be returned free of overdue charges. It
won't matter what the original due date is - there won't
be a fine during this period. We would rather .ave the
materials back and put them into circulation again.
Finally, these figures just serve to remind us Paris does
indeed have a Library to be proud of; however, numbers are
certainly not as important as what is actually inside the
building. Therefore, do visit your Library soon because
you will be most welcome and we will be glad to assist you
to avail yourself of the many excellent services and
materials.
