She pointed out the 3,370 reference and reader's
advisory services given were up, too, as they were 3,000.
The group discussed audio - visual materials, noting that
1,399 are in the collection. The Director said she was
ordering all the Academy Award winning movies and that
space for storage was beginning to be a problem, probably
calling for a rotating standing shelf in the future.
A total of 244 new cardholders were added in January.
More than 1,200 children called "Dial A Story" in January.
She said 293 adult books and 107 juvenile books were
added bringing the total collection to 52,819.
Mrs. Hayter announced 203 reservations were made for the
February 22 Friends of the Library luncheon at the Paris
Junior College, which would probably make about $700 for
the Friends funds. She complimented Mrs. Roslyn Sample
for her work in telephoning to accomplish the number of
reservations. Ethel Sexton of Dallas will make the
presentation. Mrs. Hayter said the Friends would schedule
a book review for the fall.
