Paris Public Library Advisory Board page 2 of 2
Minutes - January 18, 1989
She discussed the method of collecting fines which
amounted to $5,722.21 in 1988, and noted that the overdue
file is searched and that patrons are required to pay their
fines before books are checked out.
She discussed the book circulation policy noting colored
dots on book spines indicate the limit number and that
posters have been placed around the Library to advise patrons
of the change.
She asked for volunteers to help plan exhibits in the
two display cases: the flat one for historical items and the
tall one for collections. Frances Ellis volunteered for the
former and Virginia for the latter. They will meet with the
Director to set up a schedule for the year.
Mrs. Haslam discussed the new membership cards for the
Friends and recent comments about the literacy fund donation.
The Director announced receipt of a $200 gift from the
Newcomers Club project - a handmade quilt which Mrs. Gibson
had won.
The February 22 meeting will be changed from the usual
third Wednesday because of the TLA meeting.
The meeting adjourned at ,5:30 p.m.
Date Approved Frances Ellis, Secretary
