Mrs. Hayter said 177 paid $15 for the book review luncheon <br />at the Paris Golf and Country Club, October 11, and 178 <br />plates at $8 totaled $1,424, with the speaker's share of <br />$300 and decorations $73.31, thus a profit of $857.69 was <br />made. The Board voted to invite the "Born in a Trunk <br />Productions ", 1212 Eric Street, Carrollton, TX 75006 with <br />Jerry Crow and Laura Yancey, to give the program for the <br />1992 Friends of the Library luncheon. <br />Ms. Lewis said Children's Book Week will be November 11 -16 <br />with the theme "Start Small, Kids Who Read Succeed ". <br />There will be daily storytime programs and an eulogizing <br />program for Dr. Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss). <br />She said adult programs will include Country Stores of <br />East Texas November 12 with three or four authors from Mt. <br />Pleasant presenting the program about their book. The <br />program will be at noon and guests can bring brown bag <br />lunches and the Library will furnish coffee and tea. <br />She said Volunteer Recognition would be in January 1992, <br />similar to the 1991 event. <br />She announced the Library had received a $3,000 NETLS <br />literacy grant and the funds would be used for materials <br />and publicity.
