PAGE 2 <br />LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD 07 -15 -98 MINUTES <br />Ms. Lewis reported the Library won "Best of Parade" in the July 4tn Celebrate America parade <br />and said forty kids and fifteen adults either rode on the float and/or helped with pre and post <br />parade activities. She thanked the Friends of the Library for sponsoring the post parade pizza <br />parry which the kids really enjoyed. <br />Chairman Wood advised the luncheon honoring City Council members was a great success and <br />thanked all the Board members who participated. The Mayor, City Manager, and four council <br />persons attended and took a tour of the Library afterwards. <br />Library Director Beverly Lewis was honored with the Library Director of the Year Award at the <br />recent Northeast Texas Library System meeting. Chairman Wood, Director Lewis, and Catharine <br />Browning attended the meeting in Dallas. <br />The fall Friends of the Library benefit luncheon will be Monday, October 12. Catharine <br />Browning announced the program "High Tea and Old Lace" would be presented by Marcia <br />Thomas of the Living Room Theater in Jefferson, TX. <br />After discussion, it was agreed Board members would attend the regular meetings of the Paris <br />City Council on a volunteer, rotating basis. <br />The meeting adjourned at 4:55 PM. <br />�� <br />Beverly Lewis, Acting Secretary <br />I <br />Obi l� <br />Date Approved <br />
