Library Advisory Board <br />September 16, 2005 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />August 17, 20, 2005 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at 4:OOPM in the City Hall Council <br />Chambers with Chairman Bill Kennedy presiding. The following Board <br />members were present: Jackie Alsobrook, Sarah Gambill, Deborah <br />Hatley, Bill Kennedy, Audrey Lakes, Fran Neeley, and Jake Street. Also <br />attending were Priscilla McAnally, Library Director, and Amanda Green, <br />Friends of the Library President. Absent were Debbie Anderson and Carl <br />Lucas. <br />The minutes from the July meeting were approved. <br />NETLS Lay Representatives from the Advisory Board, Jackie Alsobrook <br />and Sarah Gambill, agreed to continue to serve for another one -year term. <br />Consolidation of Library trust funds was discussed. Two new funds: <br />Library Expendable Fund and Library Permanent Fund would be used to <br />simplify the use of library monies. Some concern was expressed regarding <br />requests to honor family names of donors. Board moved to maintain donor <br />names in subcategories of trust funds. <br />The budget report was favorable. <br />July circulation statistics were down 29% from the same month of 2004, <br />and library visits were down 48 %. A total of 351 new items were added to <br />the collection in July. <br />Children's programming in July included 6 programs with 205 children <br />and 59 adults attending. <br />Memorial donations for July totaled $953. <br />
