Library Advisory Board <br />September 16, 2005 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />September 21, 2005 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at 4:OOPM in the City Hall Council <br />Chambers with Chairman Bill Kennedy presiding. The following Board <br />members were present: Jackie Alsobrook, Debbie Anderson, Sarah <br />Gambill, Deborah Hatley, Bill Kennedy, Audrey Lakes, Carl Lucas, Fran <br />Neeley, and Jake Street. Also attending were Priscilla McAnally, Library <br />Director, and Amanda Green, Friends of the Library President. <br />The minutes from the August meeting were approved. <br />The budget report was favorable. <br />August circulation statistics were down 29% from the same month of 2004, <br />and library visits were down 48 %. A total of 351 new items were added to <br />the collection in August. <br />There were no Children's programs in the month of August. <br />Memorial donations for August totaled $485, with 23 new items donated. <br />Friends of the Library President Amanda Green reported that the book <br />sale held September 2 -3 was a success. Approximate totals from the sale <br />were $3000. 15 new members joined the Friends group from the <br />membership night of the book sale. Thank you to Dr. Green for her work <br />with the organization, advertisement and success of the sale. <br />October 3 is the date set for the Friends' Fall Luncheon. Table discussion <br />about the book Life of Pi with spec r. Stephen Walter will be the focus <br />of the luncheon. <br />
