MINUTES <br />WORK SESSION <br />LAKE PAT MAYSE STUDY COMMITTEE <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />THURSDAY, MAY 1, 2008 <br />Call the meeting to order. <br />Chairman Hayter called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. and welcomed new members Ray <br />Ball and Bob Campbell. <br />Members present were Herb Campbell, Dennis Chalaire, John R. Kruntorad, Rick <br />McDougall, Gene McWaters, Michael Moffitt, Sharron Nabors, Jim Noble, Richard Quarles, and <br />Dan Smith. Ex- Officio Members present were Pike Burkhart for Renee Harvey, Frank Wright, Ray <br />Ball, and Bob Campbell. Ex- Officio Member Bryon Billman and Alternate Member Joan Mathis <br />were absent. <br />Also, present were city staff Shawn Napier, City Engineer; Doug Harris, Interim Public <br />Utilities Director; and Janice Ellis, City Clerk. <br />2. Citizens forum. <br />No one spoke. <br />3. Receive and act on minutes from the April 17, 2008 meeting. <br />A Motion to approve the minutes was made by Dennis Chalaire and seconded by Jim Noble, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />4. Review and discuss the briefing books. <br />Shawn Napier distributed handouts regarding HDR Engineering, an article on Oklahoma <br />water and sediment data from the Corps of Engineers. Mr. Napier and committee members <br />discussed the upcoming volumetric survey and different methods of determining the amount of water <br />in Lake Pat Mayse. Mr. Napier informed the committee that water attorney Jim Matthews was <br />expected to meet with them in the near future. Chairman Hayter asked the committee members to <br />forward to Mr. Napier any questions they may want to ask Jim Matthews. <br />Sharron Nabors asked staff for information regarding the charges to industrial customers for <br />water. For comparison reasons, Dan Smith suggested that staff formulate one chart compiled of <br />contract information from all of the graphs reflecting what each industry pays to the city, including <br />minimum charges. Chairman Reeves informed the committee that a rate consultant would be <br />addressing the committee. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
