MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY JANUARY 8.2014 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by <br />Chair Ben Vaughan. <br />A. The following commissioners were present: Chair Ben Vaughan, Vice Chair <br />Douglas Cox, Nancy Anderson, David Stewart, Lauri Redus , Beatrice Ardila, <br />and Michael Glatfelter <br />B. All commissioners were present, except that Commissioner Anderson left prior <br />to Item 7. <br />C. Also present: Joey Sleeper, Historic Preservation Officer; Cheri Bedford, Main <br />Street Coordinator; and Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Supervisor <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (December 18, 2013) <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Redus and seconded by Commissioner Anderson to <br />approve the minutes with amendments. The motion carried 7 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />Sign, NXS Contemporary Art Gallery, 102 Clarksville St, Lena Spencer <br />Chair Vaughan introduced the item, noting that the applicant was not present. Chair <br />Vaughan then noted that the proposed sign was similar to a previously approved sign at <br />the same location and in the same existing sign frame and could be considered without the <br />applicant beingpresent. A motion to approve the item as submitted without the applicant's <br />presence was made by Commissioner Anderson and seconded by Commissioner Redus. <br />The motion carried 7 -0. <br />4. Consideration of and action on final draft of historic sign ordinance. <br />A motion to recommend for approval of the draft ordinance to City Council was made by <br />Commissioner Anderson and seconded by Commissioner Redus. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />CONSENT AGENDA— <br />[Items appearing on this consent agenda may be approved by a single vote of the Commission, <br />with such approval applicable to all items appearing on said agenda. If any Commission <br />member desires to discuss and consider separately any item appearing on the consent agenda, <br />that Commission member may do so by requesting that the item be removed from the consent <br />agenda and considered as a separate item.] <br />5. Discussion of and possible action regarding the following structures considered by code <br />inspectors to be in violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of <br />
