removing two of the existing windows and replacing them with aluminum intake
louvers to vent the new equipment. One window on the south side will require the
window being removed and the area to be enlarged to accommodate the intact
louver; additional two other windows will be removed on the east side and
replaced with aluminum intake louvers. Mr. Saunders
stated yes this building has one to two employees with a small office area; its
primary function is to house equipment. Jeanna Scott,
Historic Preservation Officer stated that the original facade was completely
destroyed in 1959 and redesigned by Denney Architects to reflect the porcelain
tiles that are currently a part of the facade. Alex Pickering stated the letters will
be form letters placed on the front of the facade. Chairman Starrett stated that the
signage appears to compliment the design of the facade. Monica Aquino stated
she wants to replace the current tile with a granite black tile to match the look.
Ms. Aquino stated she could not find replacement tile for the existing damaged
areas.
