MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS <br />CITY HALL - COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2005 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:01 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Jerry Raper <br />Paul Denney <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Brian Wear <br />Alternate: Becki Norment <br />The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rogers, Secretary <br />Alternates: Claudia Hunt <br />B. Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer; Bethany <br />Golden, Main Street Coordinator. <br />2. Approve minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes as <br />is from the November 28, 2005, meeting was made by Sue Lancaster, <br />seconded by Jerry Raper. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br />A. 643 Church Street - William Elliott. Trey Elliott was not present. Arvin <br />Starrett had questions regarding the setback. Based on the fence <br />being 90' from curbside, motion was made to approve the COA by Brian <br />Wear, seconded by Barbara Wilson. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />B. 135 Lamar Avenue - Karol Lyn and Hunter Moore. Karol Lyn Moore <br />proposed placing an 85" sign one brick below the top detail with a 45 <br />degree angle on the corner. It will have a brushed metal finish with <br />LED light behind the lettering. Paul Denney advised the Commission <br />that the drawing for the sign was made by Denney Architects, but no <br />money was exchanged. Chairman Starrett added that Paul Denney <br />would be allowed to vote on the COA. Motion was made to approve by <br />
