PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />MINUTES <br />The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met at the Holiday Inn <br />on September 26, 1989 at 7:00 A.M. Dr. Bercher called the meeting <br />to order at 7:06 A.M. The board members present were: Dr. Bercher, <br />Dr. Cutrell, Mrs. Norment, Dr. Brooks, Dr. Strom, Rev. Evans, and <br />Dr. Kraft. Others present were: Gene Anderson, Terry K. Haynes, <br />Mike Malone, Anthony Bethel, and Sharon Seals. <br />Dr. Bercher read the minutes from the previous meeting. They <br />were approved after the addition that Paris Health Services, our <br />competition, was also discussed at the last meeting. <br />T.K. Haynes checked on the Physicians Relief Network Services. <br />They charge a fee of $47.50 an hour, 8 hours a day, including the <br />jail work. Their travel is included in that fee. <br />Dr. Bercher asked the board if they would like to make a motion <br />to try the Physicians Referral Service. Dr. Brooks made the motion <br />that we try the Referral Service, but also have a fill -in list for <br />local back -up doctors. Dr. Cutrell seconded the motion. All were <br />in favor. Motion passed. <br />T.K. Haynes received the final word that Dr. Gonzalez was accepted <br />with Kaiser Permanente Medical Association of Texas in Mesquite. <br />Dr. Strom would like for our board to meet Dr. Lucy Fetner from <br />Louisiana. She is interested in coming to Paris and doing a little <br />volunteer work at the health department. <br />Mrs. Norment made a motion that we invite Dr. Fetner here to meet <br />the board and that we pay her travel. Dr. Kraft seconded the mo- <br />tion. All were in favor. Motion passed. <br />Mrs. Norment then made a motion that our doctors on the board <br />approach other local doctors at medical meetings and ask if they <br />would help with the health department. Rev. Evans seconded the <br />motion. All were in favor. Motion passed. <br />This meeting was adjourned at 8:00 A.M. <br />The date was not set for the next meeting. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Sharon J. Seals <br />
