PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH
MINUTES
The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met on October 5, 1989, at the
Holiday Inn at 7:00 A.M.
Dr. Bercher called the meeting to order at 7:12 A.M. The board members
present were: Dr. Cutrell, Dr. Strom. Dr. Kraft, Mrs. Norment, Mrs.
Ellis, and Dr. Bercher. Others present were: Lorrin Scott, Gene Ander-
son, Mike Malone, T.K. Haynes, Anthony Bethel, Barbra Francis, and my-
self.
Dr. Bercher then introduced Lorrin Scott, a Physicians Assistant to
Dr. Sid White, to the board members. He said that Dr. Strom had talked
to Lorrin about the jail work. Lorrin expressed an interest in learning
more about working at the Health Department and the jail.
Dr. Strom had researched the laws on work limitations for Physicians
Assistants. They can see patients and write prescriptions as long as
they have a medical doctor for a backup.
T.K. Haynes has already talked to Judge Loughmiller and he saw no
problem with Lorrin Scott working at the Health Department and the jail.
Lorrin Scott left the meeting at 7:32 A.M.
T.K. Haynes reported on the Physicians Referral Services. They require
working a 40 hour week. There was no one availble now.
Septic System Permit fees were discussed. The current fee is $35.00.
Someone will have to go to commissioners court with our board's
recommendation to get the fee raised. The Septic Fee proposal will be
on the agenda for our next board meeting.
This meeting was adjourned at 8:15 A.M. A date was not set for the next
meeting.
Respectfully Submitted,
Sharon J. Seals
