The following members were present:
Mrs. Ann Norment; Chairman, Mrs. Frances Ellis, and Mr. Hack Blankenship.
Members present from the Health Department were: Dr. Hillhouse and Sonny
Pursifull.
Mrs. Norment called the meeting to order, then asked for a report from Mr.
Blankenship on his contact with Judge Brady Fisher concerning Mosquito
Control. Mr. Blankenship said that he had talked with one of the Commiss-
ioners and he assured him that if our problem was presented to the Comm-
issioners Court, we could get the money, if needed.
Dr. Hillhouse gave a report and announced that he had received a letter
approving the 54,000.00, but as yet, the money has not been received. We
will start on the floors as soon as the money is received.
Mr. Pursifull gave his report on Mosquito workers, stating that JTPA (Job
Trainiâ–ºia-Partnership Act) would be furnishing the men, but that we would
pay half their salary plus one full month. It was suggested that next
year, if we need men to work Mosquito Control, we would just go before the
Council and Commissioners Court and say we need money and /or men and get
on the Agenda.
The Board Members went over each item of the budget. They asked that we
call and find out if we can obtain. Doctor's Liability Insurance any
cheaper, and also to check on the Liability coverage of the two pickups,
to see if the premium would be any higher next year.
