The following members were aresent: <br />,_rs. Ann Torment; Chairman, Mrs. Frances Ellis, Mr. Hack Blankenship, Dr. <br />Bill George, Dr. Rick Casey, Reverend Samuel Evans, and Dr. Wally Kraft. <br />Also present were Dr. Hillhouse, representing the Health Unit, and Gene <br />Z'- r%dcrgon, 7epresentin7 the r -itv of Paris Finance_ Division. Members of <br />the Board not nresent Caere: '` -. Russell :urns and Dr. Richard Bercher. <br />Mrs. Ann Norment called the.meetina to order. about 7:00 P.M. At this time <br />she asked for an election of officers for the coming year. Mrs. Ellis <br />made the motion that Hack Blankenship be Chairman, Dr. Casey. seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. Dr. Kraft made the motion that ?Mrs. Norment be <br />Co- Chairman, Dr. Casey seconded the motion. Motion carried.. <br />Dr. Hillhouse discussed the fact that Sonny Pursifull had retired and that <br />he plans for Anthonv Bethel to become the new - Sanitarian. That his salary <br />would be paid by the State by contract, and that his benefits would be paid' <br />from local funds, i.e (Hospitalization and Retirement.) He asked the Board's <br />opinion on aid for Anthony Betnel furthering his education in order to be- <br />come a Sanitarian. He_ suggested changing his title to Sanitarian II and in- <br />creasing his pay to $20,112. annually the first of April instead of the first <br />of May, to compensate expenses for school. He also suggested that he be <br />promoted to Sanitarian III in October, 1987 (if his work and abilities justify) , <br />with the salary of the first step of the State's Salary Schedule. He also <br />asked the Board to consider paying Anthony's mileage while commuting to East <br />Texas State in Commerce. <br />
