July, 1987 <br />ADVISORY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />MINUTES ' . <br />The Advisory Board of Health met at the City Hall, in the Council Room, <br />on Thursday, July 23rd, 1987. The meeting was called to order at approx- <br />imately 7 :10 P.M. by Mike Malone, City Manager. The following members <br />were present: Mrs. Ann Norment, Mrs. Frances Ellis, Dr. Bill George, <br />Dr. Thomas Cutrell, Dr. Wallace Kraft, and Reverend Samuel Evans. Those <br />members not present were: Dr. Richard Bercher and Dr. Gordon Strom. <br />Others present were: T.K. Haynes, City Attorney and Dr. Hillhouse, <br />Director of the Health Department, and Bob Burns, County Judge. <br />Mr. Malone read a list of the Board Members and stated that Dr. Kraft <br />was an ex- oficio member. Dr. Kraft objected to this and a discussion <br />followed. It was agreed that Dr. Kraft would be a full, voting member. <br />Mr. Malone Asked that the Board select their officers, at this time. <br />Dr. Kraft nominated Ann Norment as Chairman, this was seconded by <br />Dr. George. Mrs.. Ellis made the motion nominations cease and Mrs. <br />Norment be nominated by acclamation. <br />Dr. Cutrell nominated Dr. Kraft as c0- chairman. Rev. Evans seconded <br />the motion. <br />Chairman, Ann Norment called on T.K. Haynes to give his reasons why <br />the bookkeeping of the Health Department should be turned over to the <br />City. A discussion followed and Rev. Evans made the motion that the <br />Bookkeeping go to the City, the motion was seconded by Dr. Cutrell. <br />The motion did not carry, at this time. A discussion followed, and <br />Gene Anderson suggested that with the amount of money that goes <br />through the Health Department, it should be accounted for in a more <br />professional way.
