September, 1985 <br />ADVISORY BOARD OF HEALTHMEETING <br />MINUTES <br />The Advisory Board of Health met at the Paris -Lamar County Health Unit on <br />Wednesday, September 18, 1985. The meeting was called to order at approx- <br />imately 7:10 P.M. by Chairman, Hack Blankinship. <br />The following members were present: Mr. Blankinship, Dr. Bercher, Dr. <br />George, Mrs. Norment, Mrs. Ellis and Reverend Evans. Also present were: <br />Dr. Hillhouse and quests, Dr. Clark and Dr. Salzman. <br />Mr. Blankinship opened the meeting with a discussion about the City <br />pulling funds from the Health Department. <br />A discussion concerning Family Planning and the chances of getting the <br />contract back. Dr. Clark, who had checked into this, stated that it <br />is doubtful that anything can be done, since the contract was let for <br />four years. <br />Dr. Hillhouse stated that he would like for the Medical Society to be <br />informed about the Health Department, and that he would like to have the <br />support of the Medical Society. <br />The Board asked Dr. Hillhouse to check about the possibility of getting <br />legal advice, to check with Grayson County on how they handled the same <br />situation of the City pullinq out of the Health Department. They also <br />asked him to check with Dr. Crowder on all of these matters and the <br />possibility of fees for service. <br />Dr. Bercher asked Dr. Hillhouse to find out to what degree of State <br />funds we would lose if the City pulls out. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 P.M. <br />
