MINUTES <br />PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />MARCH 23, 1988 <br />The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met Wednesday, March 23, 1988, <br />at the Holiday Inn. Mrs. Ann Norment called the meeting to order at <br />7:01 A.M. The board members present were Ann Norment, Dr. Bert Strom, <br />Dr. Richard Bercher, Rev. Samuel Evans, Dr. Thomas.Cutrell, Mrs. Frances <br />Ellis, Dr. Kenneth Brooks, Dr. Wally Kraft, <br />City Attorney, T.K. Haynes read the minutes from our board meeting <br />on December 16, 1987. Dr. Brooks made a motion to approve the minutes. <br />Dr. Bercher seconded the motion and they were approved. <br />We elected officers on our board for 1988. It was agreed to elect a <br />Chairman, Vice Chairman, and a Secretary. The motion was made to elect <br />Ann Norment as Chairman again Dr. Cutrell for Vice- Chairman and Dr..Strom; <br />for Secretary. Mrs. Ellis moved that the nominations cease and the three <br />named were approved. <br />Dr. Cutrell made a presentation on the poly- urethane roof =bid, Dr. Brooks <br />moved that we accept this bid and present it to the city council and <br />commissioners court in order to obtain funding. 'j �,a �,,,��(,p�' P'J.tsed. <br />Anthony Bethel informed the board how that Mr. Ostergren got the Title <br />XX bid almost four years ago on Paris Health Services covering five <br />counties. The Department of Human Resources has given three counties <br />their Title XX money back. Anthony asked the board permission to get <br />this program back and this was approved. <br />The Indigent. Health Care discussed. Dr. Brooks sometimes <br />sees ten inmates from the county jail a week and is wondering if Indigent <br />Health Care should cover payments on this type of care. He moved that <br />the Indigent Health Care Laws be revised to include all physcians and other..- -- <br />health care providers as well. Dr. Strom stated that Judge.- Burns-..wants <br />our board to review Indigent Health Care ex end 't res w' La r' i filler <br />on a regular basis. The Health Dept. '+ '� the <br />Indigent Health Care Agreementts� in order <br />6� to {rec� ve <br />C+4� `�aKn for services <br />performed. SAS# eK(6C41 0ed <br />Anthony read our monthly report and announced that we had ordered the <br />new Spirit Phone System with AT &T at $112.00 a month. Lightning struck <br />our copy machine and repairs cost $140.00. Dr. Cutrell mentioned that <br />WIC is running out of office space and we need to discuss this next <br />month. <br />The next meeting was scheduled for 7:00 A.M. on April 20, 1988, at. <br />the Holiday Inn. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:21 A.M. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Sharon J.
