MINUTES
PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
JULY 21, 1988
The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met Thursday, July 21, 1988 at
the Health Department Building. Mrs. Norment called the meeting to order
at 7:30 A.M. The board members were Mrs. Norment, Dr. Brooks, Dr. Cutrell,
and Dr. Strom. We did not have a quorum. Dr. Bercher's office called to
let us know that he could not attend this meeting. Terry K. Haynes notified
Mrs. Norment that he could not attend. Gene Anderson was on vacation.
The minutes from our previous meeting were reviewed and approved.
There was a recommendation to extend our Immunization Clinic hours by one
hour. This would help take care of the school rush in August. There was a
recommendation to change the quorum back to four members instead of five.
Gene Anderson and T.K. Haynes were not present to discuss consideration
of our 1988 -89 Budget.
The monthly report was given by Anthony Bethel. Dr. Cutrell would like
the Family Planning figures broken down to see exactly how many patients
Dr. Hillhouse sees in a month for other problems. We need to talk with
Darrell Wylie who is with Grants Management in Austin concerning why our
Grant Payments are delayed sometimes.
Anthony Bethel presented diagrams and figures concerning renovation
to provide additional WIC space. He mentioned that our big Lab is just not
properly designed for.Wic to operate out of it. Mrs. Francis' auditors from
Austin were here last week and observed that the traffic flow would be to
heavy and interfere with people bringing in water samples to the main Lab.
Anthony stated that we may have an office available in ten or eleven months.
Our Tuberculosis Clerk will be retiring then. Mrs. Francis sent a recom-
mendation to the State asking if they might work two hours a week overtime
so that they might handle 200 more patients by December. The State did
give permission for the overtime. Dr. Cutrell is going to call Bill Light-
foot to come look at our building and see if there is any possible way to
utilize the traffic flow into WIC.
Our next meeting will be on August 18, 1988 here at the Paris -Lamar
County Health Department at 7:00 A.M.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:03 A.M.
Respectfully Submitted,
Sharon J. Seas, Clerk III
