MINUTES <br />PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />JUNE 29, 1988 <br />The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met Wednesday, June 29, <br />1988 at the Holiday Inn. Mrs. Norment called the meeting to order <br />at 7:30 A. M. The board members present were Mrs. Norment, Mrs. <br />Ellis, Dr. Bercher, Dr. Cutrell, and Dr. Strom. <br />All the board members received a copy of the minutes from our <br />previous meeting. The minutes were approved by all. <br />Dr. Cutrell discussed the consideration of WIC's request for <br />additional space. He mentioned a few problems such as the loud <br />centrifuge noise, lack of storage space, and lack of privacy when <br />interviewing patients. Terry K. Haynes recommended that WIC use <br />one -half of the sanitarian's office. Anthony will present diagrams <br />and figures concerning renovations at our next meeting. Dr. Cutrell <br />made a motion that Barbra Francis and Anthony look into this situ- <br />ation. Mrs. ellis seconded the motion. <br />The fourth item on the Agenda was consideration of WIC's request <br />for part -time use of Health Unit Personnel. It was recommended <br />that our junior nurse work 1/5 time on Fridays in WIC and that our <br />senior nurse take Friday afternoon off and work a Saturday morning <br />Immunization Clinic.. Dr.Cutrell made a proposal that our junior <br />nurse work one day a week in Wic for two months and then report <br />back on how this is working out. Dr. Bercher left at 7:45 A.M. <br />before the above was discussed and we had no quorum to vote on the <br />matter. <br />The fifth item was consideration of our 1988 -89 Budget. We <br />have no reserve funds left. Terry K. Haynes said we will go by the <br />City scale for a pay raise this year. The Budget will go as is. <br />Next was the monthly report by Anthony Bethel. A personal <br />computer for our Birth and Death records has been included in the <br />Budget. Liability insurance on the nurses would cost $114.00 a <br />year through a company in Dallas. The amount of dollars in WIC <br />Food Cards was added to our report. <br />Our next board meeting will be on July 21, 1988 at The Paris - <br />Lamar County Health Department at 7:00 A.M. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 A.M. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />
