MINUTES
PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
MAY 25, 1988
The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met Wednesday,,
May 25, 1988 at the Holiday Inn. Dr. Cutrell called the
meeting to order at 7:10 A.M. The board members present
were Dr. Cutrell, Rev. Evans, Dr. Brooks, Mrs. Ellis, Dr.
Strom, and Dr. Kraft.
Dr. Cutrell read the minutes from our previous meeting.
They were approved by all.
Indigent Health Care Agreement revisions were discussed.
The only changes made were revisions agreed on last month.
It was asked should the Health Dept. nurses be covered by
liability insurance and if so what would the cost be. Dr.
Strom made a motion that the Indigent Health Care Agreement
be approved. Dr. Kraft seconded the motion. All were in
favor of the County Indigent Health Care Agreement today.
Space for the WIC program was discussed by Barbra Francis.
She needs another 8x10 office for interviewing patients.
Anthony talked to Roy Chadwick about portable buildings. One
drawback is that these buildings contain asbestos. We need
to find out if the asbestos could be removed. WIC has an
excess of $6,000.00 now. Barbra Francis would have to have
an approval from Austin to use this money and the budget would
have to be amended.
Dr. Kraft asked if we could go ahead and put the roof on
for $14,420.00 and pay for it out of the present budget. The
City Council will need to approve us amending the budget to
spend money now. Dr. Cutrell wants us to get an approval as..
soon as possible.
Number five on the Agenda was to change the quorum from
five members to four members . There are currently eight
board members. Dr. Cutrell made a motion and it was seconded
to enlarge our board from eight to nine members. All were in
favor and the motion was passed.
The monthly report was read by Anthony Bethel. There was
no well -child clinic last month due to our nurse participating
in the Lamar County Special Olympics. One skunk had a positive
rabies report from Austin. The skunk was from the Brookston
area and no one was bitten.
The next meeting was scheduled for 7:00 A.M. on June 29,
1988 at the Holiday Inn. Dr. Kraft moved that we adjourn at
8:10 A.M.
Respectfully Submitted,
1
