Discussion was held regarding payment of Dr. Woodruff and
Kendra Proctor. It was stated that there would not be
money available to pay them in the Health Department
budget until Dr. Beachley's leave runs out. T.K. said so
that money would be available the Health Department could
let someone go. Last one in, first one out. Dr. Strom
asked if we were filing Medicaid. Anthony said yes. Dr.
Strom asked how much the County was paying for the jail to
be seen. Latricia said $100.00 per hour. Dr. Strom said
this is the perfect opportunity to get the RHC underway.
T.K. asked if anyone was being turned away. Anthony said
no. Dr. Kraft said he knew of two people who have been.
Anthony said that Dr. Beachley is slow. Gary Gunder asked
how fast money comes in from the State. Gene said the
time varies. Mike Malone said a budget for the RHC needs
to be nailed down. He also said there could possibly have
a cut in the budget. Gary Gunder asked if both hospitals
would be interested in splitting the cost to hire Dr.
Woodruff and Kendra Proctor to prevent having double cost.
Julie said as long as the split is 50/50 she didn't think
there would be a problem. T.K. asked how many people at
the Health Dept. have money coming from the State for
their salary. Anthony said all but Dr. Beachley. Julie
said the staff needed for the RHC is one LVN or RN if the
Health Dept. chooses to keep who is there and one clerical
person. Julie made the recommendation not to fill the
other RN position at this time. T.K. said he didn't think
the Health Department needed the last position filled.
Dr. Moseley suggested waiting 30 days to see who or what
might or might not be needed. T.K. said there is going to
be an evaluation made at the Health Dept. by both
hospitals to see who or what is or is not needed very
soon so why not wait until after this evaluation. Dr.
Kraft said he thought is earlier motion should take effect
March 1, 1994. Everyone agreed.
T.K. mentioned the idea to extend the Health Board by two
members. It was agreed that this is still premature.
Latricia asked how many Physicians have to be on the
Board. Dr. Kraft said there has to be one M.D., one
Veterinarian and one Dentist.
Anthony gave his monthly report.
