PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH
MINUTES OF MEETING
The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health held its regular
meeting on February 22, 1994. Those in attendance
included Mrs. Ellis, Dr. Moseley, Dr. Strom, Dr. Brock and
Dr. Kraft. Others in attendance included Latricia Miller,
Deane Loughmiller, Mike Malone, T.K. Haynes, Gene
Anderson, Julie Maddox, Gary Gunder, Anthony Bethel and
Jae Dickinson.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 a.m. The minutes
were read and approved.
T.K. swore in the Board Members.
Discussion was held regarding the amount of leave Dr.
Beachley has left. Gene said Dr. Beachley has about 4
weeks. Dr. Strom asked if there were any options for an
interim physician. Anthony said that Dr. Greg Skie will
be having two half day clinics this week and one half day
clinic on Monday. Julie said she thought there were two
issues. One being coverage at the jail and the second
being an interim physician at the Health Department. Dr.
Woodruff and his staff will cover the jail three mornings
a week after they get off work at St. Joseph's E.R. If it
is agreed Dr. Woodruff will act as the Director at the
Health Dept. and Kendra Proctor, F.N.P. will see the
patients in the three week interim at the Health Dept.
Dr. Kraft made the motion to hire Dr. Woodruff and Kendra
Proctor for the interim period. Dr. Strom seconded. All
were in favor. Dr. Kraft asked why there had to be an
M.D. at the jail. Dr. Strom said there has to be
according to State regulations.
Latricia asked if Dr. Beachley's resignation was still on
the table. T.K. said no. It has been withdrawn. Julie
asked if Dr. Beachley can come back after his leave is up.
The answer is yes.
Dr. Moseley asked if this arrangement with St. Joseph is
going to be temporary. Julie said yes. She also said
that St. Joseph saw this as a chance to get the RHC paper
work sent off and the RHC set up. Julie also told the
board that there is another Nurse Practitioner very
interested and possibly available in a month or so.
