MINUTES OF MEETING PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH The Paris -Lamar County Board of health held its regular meeting on Wednesday, January 30th, 1996, at the Health Department. Board members present included Dr. Charles Tarvin, Dr. Robert Moseley, Dr. Bert Strom, Dr. Wally Kraft, lairs. Ann Norment, aria Mrs. Frances Ellis. Others in attendance included Mr. Mike Malone, Mr. T.K..Haynes, Mr. Gene Anderson, Judge Chuck Superville, Mr. Alan Weatherford, Mrs. Latricia Miller, Mr. Anthony Bethel, Mr. Bob Ricks, Mrs. Barbra Francis, Mr. Ron Ragan, and Mr, Gary Conwell. A quorum was established_, and the meeting was called to order at 7:15 am.. Under discussion of the position of Medical. Director for the Health Department, Anthony passed out copies of resumes f.catit Dr. EumdLe and Dr. Plummier. Dr. Strom slated that his internist group could also resent a proposal. Mr. Haynes suggested that the Board ire someone temporarily for th:rec months, advertise the position in the paper, appoint a committee to study the applications. received and make a decision. Mrs. Norment made a motion that was seconded by Dr. Kraft that the position be opened and advertised in the newspaper. The motion carried. ti Mrs. Norment made a motion that was seconded by.Dr. Kraft that Dr. Plummer be hired temporarily until April. 30th. The motion carried. Mrs. Norment made a motion that was seconded by Dr. Kraft that the Chairman appoint a committee to study applications received, and report back to the Beard. The motion carried. A committee was appointed consisting of Mrs. Norment, Dr, Tarvin, Dr, Strom,. Dr. Kraft. Dr. Tarvin suggested that a job description for the position.be: prepared. Dr. Tarvin also suggested that the committee that reviews the applications also look at the complaint letter received from a former employee, and that a letter be sent to this former employee advising.that the complaints in her letter will be fully investigated by the Board, and that a reply will be made to her. Under discussion of a contract with Glee Erianite.regarding the Medical Manager software program, Dr. Strom stated that there are other companies: in the area that can provide those services, and we should contact some of them also.
