New—
SECTION 14.15 — Retiree Health Insurance
(Revised 0412212014 with effective date the same date Inter -local Agreement is signed and
approved)
Health insurance may be available to retirees; however current employees who retire on or
after October 1, 2004 will have to meet a Rule of 80 in order for the PLCHD to share in, if
any, of the cost of health insurance. The amount of the shared portion, if any, will be
decided annually, by board of health, based on availability of funds to cover above stated
expense. This means that the number of cumulative years of service with the PLCHD plus
the employee's age must equal 80 before the PLCHD will share in, if any, of the cost of the
retiree's insurance premium. Health insurance coverage ends when the retiree becomes age
65 or in certain circumstances, when the retiree becomes eligible for MedicarelMedicaid.
Employees who are hired on or after October 1, 2004 will have access to the PLCHD
Group Health Insurance Plan upon retirement; however, the employee will be responsible
for the full cost of their health insurance premium. Health insurance coverage ends when
the retiree becomes age 65 or in certain circumstances, when the retiree becomes eligible
for MedicarelMedicaid.
Dr. Erickson will present to Lamar County Commissioner's Court and hopefully then the Inter -local
Agreement will be approved and signed. Dr. Erickson does not want the City of Paris to pay the $5,100.
($425 x 6 mos. x 2 retiree employees) and the Health Department pay this and if there is a shortfall at
the end of this budget year, then the City of Paris and Lamar County should split the cost.
Mr. Collins made the motion and was seconded by Mrs. Head that the Retiree Health Insurance revisions
be approved on April 22, 2014 with an effective date the same date the Inter -local Agreement is signed
and approved. All in favor and approved.
The next meeting will be on the 201h May, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. at the Paris - Lamar County Health
Department.
Dr. Erickson made the motion and was seconded by Mr. Collins for the meeting to be adjourned at 5:45
p.m.
Respectfully submitted by:
Cheryl D. Johnson
&W* Z), fo&mm
Approval motion made by Bill Collins and seconded by Kristi Head at the June 3`d, 2014 meeting.
